The 78th Emmy Awards kicked off at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, with television stars gracing a blue carpet in honor of NBC’s centennial and iconic peacock logo. Hosted by Mariska Hargitay, the event celebrated TV excellence and featured a musical tribute to Dolly Parton led by Reba McEntire and a performance of “Bridge Over Troubled Water” by Noah Kahan. The ceremony also marked the milestones of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “Charlie’s Angels.”
While some Emmys were awarded earlier at the Creative Arts Emmys, the main event on Monday showcased a star-studded lineup of presenters including Dan Levy, John Mulaney, Awkwafina, Shailene Woodley, Alan Cumming, Florence Pugh, and Annie Murphy.
From Supriya Ganesh in a stunning pale blue McQueen gown to Matty Matheson donning a sophisticated brown-and-black tuxedo, the red carpet witnessed a variety of fashionable looks. Notable appearances included Lisa Rinna in an asymmetrical black gown, Grace Gummer in a black pleated dress, and Joy Sunday in an off-white embellished gown.
Other standout outfits featured Noah Kahan in a sharp black tuxedo, Colman Domingo in a vibrant orange jacket and pink belt, and Lukita Maxwell in a custom champagne-gold taffeta dress. Megan Stalter turned heads dressed as a golden Emmy statuette, while Cynthia Nixon impressed in a pleated burgundy gown.
The event also saw the likes of Alan Cumming in an embellished suit, Zendaya in a crystal-covered gown, Selena Gomez in a strapless gold dress, and Nicole Kidman in a white feather-trimmed dress. Florence Pugh looked elegant in a purple gown, Riz Ahmed sported an oversized blue-grey suit, and Emilia Clarke stunned in a pale pink gown with a dramatic cape.
Claire Danes opted for a sculptural silver dress, Sarah Pidgeon wore a pale purple custom Chanel gown, and Dan Levy graced the carpet in a custom Celine tuxedo, paying tribute to his late “Schitt’s Creek” co-star Catherine O’Hara.
