“Luke Littler Aiming for Summit in PDC World Rankings”

Luke Littler has a chance to reach the summit of the PDC World Rankings this weekend. The Machineseeker European Championship kicks off in Dortmund on Thursday night, featuring the top 32 players from the 2025 European Tour rankings competing for a share of £600,000 in prize money.

Renowned players like Michael van Gerwen, Peter Wright, and Gerwyn Price will start the first round of the PDC Premier Event. Subsequently, Littler, Luke Humphries, and Nathan Aspinall will showcase their skills on Friday night. The tournament will progress with round two on Saturday, leading to the quarter-finals, semi-finals, and final on Sunday.

The champion of the Machineseeker European Championship will walk away with £120,000, while the runner-up will secure £60,000. Semi-finalists will receive £40,000 each, with quarter-finalists earning £25,000.

Competitors eliminated in the second or first round will still take home £15,000 and £7,500, respectively. With significant prize money on the line, Littler has the opportunity to surpass Humphries in the rankings.

The current standings show a close race between ‘The Nuke’ and ‘Cool Hand Luke’, who currently holds the top spot. To dethrone Humphries, Littler needs to bridge the £52,500 earnings gap.

In the event that the reigning world no.1 suffers an early exit in the first round, creating a £5,000 gap with a semi-final finish would be enough for Littler. However, this task is easier said than done.

Littler, an 18-year-old talent, has faced challenges with German crowds in the past. Despite encountering hostility at previous events, he remains focused on his goal of claiming the top spot in the PDC World Rankings.

Looking ahead to the PDC World Darts Championship, Littler sees an opportunity to potentially secure the world no.1 title. He expressed his determination to continue performing well and apply pressure on the current leader, Luke Humphries, who will need to defend his prize money from various tournaments.

As the competition intensifies, Littler remains optimistic about his chances of becoming the world no.1 before the upcoming World Championship. He emphasized the importance of consistent effort and maintaining pressure on his competitors to achieve his ultimate goal.
