“Girl Attacked by Wolf on Greek Beach”

A wolf attacked a young girl at a vacation spot in Greece. The five-year-old, who was on holiday with her family in Neos Marmaras, Halkidiki peninsula, sustained bites and scratches on her back and leg. The incident occurred while she was playing on the beach. Fortunately, the child’s mother intervened and scared off the wolf, preventing serious injuries.

The girl, from Serbia, received medical treatment for her injuries and was later discharged from the hospital. Authorities are now searching for the wolf, which is believed to have developed a concerning relationship with humans, according to the wildlife group Callisto.

Surveillance cameras have been deployed in the area to locate the wolf. Residents and tourists have been advised to be cautious, especially with dogs and children. The wolf has been observed wandering around the village and beach huts without fear of humans, causing alarm among locals.

Athanasios Mallinis, the Deputy Mayor of Sithonia, stated that drones are being used to track the wolf’s movements at night, and traps will be set up to capture the animal. This incident marks the first recorded wolf attack on a human in Greece.

In a separate incident in the Netherlands, a six-year-old child was attacked and dragged into the woods by a wolf in front of his mother. The child sustained severe bite wounds but was rescued by two men who fought off the animal with sticks.

The wolf responsible for the attacks in Greece, known as Bram and identified as GW3237m, has a history of aggression towards humans. Authorities are taking measures to ensure the safety of the community and prevent further incidents.
