Amazon has unveiled an updated pricing for its latest Fire TV Stick HD, presenting an opportune moment to explore a fresh streaming experience. The revamped device boasts enhanced features such as a sleeker design, compatibility with Wi-Fi 6 for seamless streaming, and improved performance speed.
The new Fire TV Stick HD is reported to be over 30% faster than its predecessors, offering quicker boot-up times and enhanced application performance, according to Amazon. Notably, one of its key attributes is the ability to draw power directly from the TV’s USB port, eliminating the necessity for a separate power adapter and ensuring a tidy cable setup behind the TV screen.
Moreover, the device introduces Amazon’s latest Fire OS software, named Vega, which pledges a more organized interface, intelligent content suggestions, and a more efficient browsing experience.
Amazon expressed, “The new Fire TV Stick HD is our most compact streaming device yet, smaller in size and width compared to earlier models, designed for direct power supply via the TV’s USB port, enabling it to fit neatly behind a TV without requiring an extra power adapter.”
Initially priced at £39.99, the new Fire TV Stick HD is now attainable on Amazon for £25.99, offering a 35% discount.
While the discount is enticing, thrifty shoppers can find a slightly lower price elsewhere. Both Argos and Currys have slashed the price of the 2024 Fire TV Stick HD to £24.99, undercutting Amazon by £1 and reducing the original launch price by £15.
The older HD model still grants access to popular streaming services like Netflix, Prime Video, and Disney+, along with Full HD playback, Alexa voice commands, shortcut buttons for swift app launches, and smart home controls for compatible devices such as lights.
