Lewis Hamilton is exploring new creative avenues by working on a television show concept and a couple of animated films through his production company, Dawn Apollo Films. The seven-time world champion played a significant role in bringing the successful F1 blockbuster film to cinemas.
Hamilton’s interest in diverse creative projects beyond his racing career is evident. The 40-year-old, well known for his involvement in music production, has now made a mark in the film industry, particularly with the F1 movie, marking his initial major contribution.
The F1 film, titled F1: The Movie, achieved remarkable success by grossing £479 million ($629 million) globally, surpassing Pixar’s Cars 2 to become the highest-grossing sports film in history.
Reflecting on his involvement with The Ferrari Magazine, Hamilton expressed his satisfaction with the project’s outcome, noting his active engagement throughout the production process. He collaborated with the film’s director, Joe Kosinski, and played a crucial role in its development, including providing feedback on editing and meeting with renowned composer Hans Zimmer.
Following the success of the F1 movie, Hamilton’s Dawn Apollo Films remains active in the film industry, with the British driver already planning upcoming productions. He emphasized his passion for storytelling and the importance of sharing inspirational narratives in today’s challenging times.
Additionally, Hamilton revealed his interest in a television comedy show concept and mentioned working on ideas for animated films. Despite receiving numerous project proposals post the F1 movie, Hamilton emphasized a focus on quality over quantity in line with renowned filmmaker Quentin Tarantino’s approach.

On the racing front, Hamilton is striving for his first F1 podium finish with Ferrari during the ongoing 2025 season. With the team engaged in a tight battle for the Constructors’ Championship against Mercedes and Red Bull, Ferrari currently holds a slight one-point lead over its closest competitors.
