Freeview’s future is becoming increasingly uncertain as more households transition to streaming services, potentially leading to millions abandoning traditional aerial reception in the coming years. Adding to the challenges faced by Freeview, a competitor has reemerged, offering an expanded range of viewing options.
The Manhattan Aero 4K TV Streamer operates on Freely technology, enabling viewers to access live content online rather than through traditional aerial signals.
Since its release earlier this year, the Aero 4K TV Streamer has garnered significant consumer interest, quickly selling out in stores. Despite initial scarcity, Manhattan has now restocked the device to meet the high demand it has experienced.
Furthermore, the Aero now features HBO Max, enriching its content offerings with a variety of programming from HBO, Max Originals, Warner Bros., and DC available through a single app.
HBO Max content includes popular TV series like The Last of Us, House of the Dragon, Succession, and The White Lotus, along with movie franchises such as Harry Potter and Batman.
While access to HBO Max requires a separate subscription starting at £4.99 per month, the Aero still provides access to a wide array of free content through Freely, including over 50 live TV channels, on-demand shows, voice search, personalized recommendations, a comprehensive TV guide, and the ability to pause live TV.
Manhattan’s Chief Operating Officer, Alex Arbab-Zadeh, expressed confidence in meeting the demand for the Aero, emphasizing the added value brought by HBO Max and hinting at more app additions in the future.
The Manhattan Aero 4K TV Streamer with Freely is currently priced at £89.99 and is available at retailers like Currys, Argos, and John Lewis.
