“River Island Recalls Pink Handbag Over Lead Risk”

River Island has issued a product recall for its Pink Floral Heat Seal Droplet Bucket Handbag due to elevated levels of lead found on the gold chain. Exposure to lead can be harmful, especially to pregnant women, affecting the kidneys and circulatory system. The item code affected is 927917.

In an online recall notice, River Island stated that higher than permitted levels of lead were detected in the handle during testing, prompting the recall for customer safety. Although the risk of harm is deemed low, the company urges customers to stop using the handbag immediately and arrange for its return. River Island apologizes for any inconvenience and offers full refunds.

For returns, customers can send the product to River Island Customer Service Parcels Freepost, MK17 8EW, or contact customer services via email or phone. To stay informed about product recalls, consumers can check the Food Standards Agency (FSA) and Chartered Trading Standards (CTS) Institute websites and watch for recall notices in stores.

In addition to River Island’s recall, Tesco has pulled its Celery Fruit and Nut Salad due to undeclared mustard, posing a risk to those with mustard allergies. Kendamil infant milk and a children’s swim vest from Amazon have also been recalled for safety concerns.
