“Two Arrested in Connection with Fatal St Helens Arson”

Two more individuals have been arrested in connection with the tragic deaths of Eric Greener, 77, and Sheila Jackson, 83, who lost their lives in a house fire on South John Street in St Helens. The arson attack, which took place in July, was described by police as a horrific incident where accelerants were used to fuel the fire, impeding rescue efforts as the front door was engulfed in flames.

Following the incident, the elderly couple was rescued from their burning home and taken to the hospital, but unfortunately succumbed to their injuries. Recent updates on Tuesday, September 16, revealed that Kevin Weetman, 34, from Croxteth Drive, Aigburth, and Kylie Maynard, 37, from Rydal Street, Everton, have been charged with two counts of murder, conspiracy to commit murder, arson, and conspiracy to supply a class A drug (cocaine). Both individuals are in custody and are scheduled to appear in Liverpool Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, September 17.

Another individual, Lee Owens, 46, with no fixed address, has also been charged with two counts of murder and arson with intent to endanger life. Owens remains in custody and is expected to appear in Liverpool Crown Court on Friday, November 28. Seven other individuals have been arrested in connection with the case, as reported by the Liverpool Echo.

Information can also be reported on the Merseyside Police website or by calling 101 with incident reference 25000580909.
