According to author John McKie, Prince’s extensive back catalog, famously stored in a location called ‘The Vault,’ holds a treasure trove of music that only a select few individuals could access with the correct code.
Prince, the talented musician and songwriter, left behind a legacy of chart-topping hits like 1999, Purple Rain, When Doves Cry, and Little Red Corvette. However, there is a possibility of many more hidden gems in his hometown of Minneapolis.
McKie revealed insights from Morris Hayes, a keyboard player who collaborated with Prince for two decades, indicating that there are unreleased tracks comparable to Purple Rain in quality. Despite encouragement to release the music, Prince kept it guarded, citing it was intended for his nonexistent children, adding to the mystery surrounding his intentions.
The book delves into Prince’s early career rivalry with Michael Jackson and his determination to succeed after facing challenges, such as a tumultuous gig supporting the Rolling Stones in 1981.
