Nicola Golen’s goal in the second minute of extra time secured a 2-2 draw for Ottawa Rapid against AFC Toronto on Sunday at TD Place. Golen’s equalizer in the 92nd minute helped the league-leading Rapid earn an additional point in their standings. Melanie Forbes also scored for Ottawa (10-2-3) in the 13th minute.
Sarah Stratigakis and Shelina Zadorsky found the net for third-place Toronto (7-4-4). The match saw both teams reduced to 10 players in the 63rd minute following red cards shown to Choo Hyojoo of the Rapid and Cloey Uddenberg of AFC Toronto.
Earlier on the same day, TD Place in Ottawa was revealed as the venue for the forthcoming Northern Super League final on November 14.
