“Fatal Collision Involving Commercial Trucks in Central Newfoundland”

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police have reported the tragic death of a 47-year-old man following a collision involving two commercial transport trucks on the Trans-Canada Highway in central Newfoundland. The incident occurred near Gullbridge, also known as Gull Pond Bridge, situated between Badger and South Brook. The authorities were alerted to the crash shortly after 2:15 a.m. NT on Tuesday. Upon arrival, both vehicles were engulfed in flames.

The driver of one truck, a 47-year-old man traveling eastbound, was declared deceased at the scene. The driver of the westbound tractor-trailer sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital for treatment, where they remain under care. The police response necessitated the closure of a section of the Trans-Canada Highway between Badger and South Brook for several hours.

An ongoing investigation is being conducted by the police to determine the cause of the collision.
