In an Instagram post on Thursday, Dimoldenberg expressed her gratitude to her audience for joining her on this journey and finding joy in the episodes. She described the show as her personal romantic comedy and shared her emotions about moving on to new adventures while acknowledging that “Chicken Shop Date” will always hold a special place in her heart.
Dimoldenberg initiated the show 12 years ago by interviewing musicians within the UK’s underground rap scene. Over time, she expanded her guest list to include celebrities like Keke Palmer, Conan O’Brien, Paul McCartney, and Jack Harlow, amassing nearly 3.5 million subscribers on her YouTube channel.
“Chicken Shop Date” features Dimoldenberg taking celebrities on informal dates at fried chicken shops in London, where she poses a mix of flirty, funny, and occasionally awkward questions. The format fosters a casual and playful dynamic akin to first-date banter rather than traditional interview settings, often leading to humorous or flirtatious exchanges, such as seen in her interaction with Andrew Garfield.
Among her diverse interviews, Dimoldenberg has engaged with notable Canadians like Ryan Reynolds, who shared a humorous moment about his wife Blake Lively’s character on “Gossip Girl.” Additionally, Shania Twain appeared on the show in 2023, revealing she had never met Brad Pitt despite referencing him in her song “That Don’t Impress Me Much.”
