Film enthusiasts and celebrities are heading to the biggest city in Canada for the Toronto International Film Festival. The 51st installment of TIFF, spanning 11 days from Thursday onwards, showcases nearly 300 films and features renowned actors such as Javier Bardem, Cynthia Erivo, and Seth Rogen, among others.

On the second day, September 11, fans of K-pop sensation Lisa had the chance to see her at the premiere of her documentary “Always Lalisa” at Roy Thomson Hall. The cast and crew of “The Stunt Driver” also graced the red carpet during the film’s debut, with Jay Baruchel and Ed Helms among the stars. Director Michael Dowse expressed his confidence in Baruchel’s portrayal of Canadian daredevil Ken Carter after observing his performance in “Blackberry.”
Rebel Wilson, joined by her wife Ramona Agruma-Wilson, promoted “Girl Group,” a film she wrote, directed, and starred in alongside Jennifer Coolidge and Randall Park at Roy Thomson Hall. Actor James McAvoy interacted with fans before the premiere of his supernatural drama “Faith” at the Royal Alexandra Theatre. McAvoy’s co-star, Smylie Bradwell, who plays the son of a single mother in the movie, also attended the premiere.
Director Adrian Buitenhuis arrived at Roy Thomson Hall to showcase the film “Man in Motion: The Rick Hansen Story.” Rick Hansen himself graced the event, arriving on the red carpet in a wheelchair.
On the first day, September 10, preparations were in full swing as workers rolled out the red carpet for the opening film “Being Heumann” by Oscar-winning director Siân Heder. Additionally, Canadian premieres for “Fjord,” “The Housewife,” and “Stuffed” took place.
Various attendees, including furry friends, visitors, and notable figures like Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow, posed for photos in front of the iconic TIFF sign on King Street W. The cast and crew of “Being Heumann” gathered on the red carpet for its premiere at Roy Thomson Hall. Actor Rio Finnegan, actor Fan Bingbing, tribute award honoree for TIFF 2026, and Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow also graced the premiere event.
At the Royal Alexandra Theatre, Jodie Comer from “Killing Eve” attended the premiere of “Stuffed,” while actor Naomi Watts greeted fans at the red carpet for her film “The Housewife,” directed by Canadian filmmaker Ben Shirinian. “The Housewife” is a historical drama based on a true story, starring Watts and Luke Evans.
