In a recent auction, a lightsaber featuring Luke Skywalker’s severed hand from the movie The Empire Strikes Back was sold for a record-breaking $3.75 million US. This sale set a new benchmark for the highest price ever paid for a prop used in a Star Wars film, according to the auction house in charge.
Now, another iconic lightsaber is up for grabs.
A lightsaber used by Darth Vader in the pivotal duel at Cloud City, where he famously reveals to Skywalker, “I am your father,” will be one of the main attractions at the upcoming Ultimate Star Wars Auction hosted by Heritage Auctions on November 12.
This Vader lightsaber, also featured in Return of the Jedi, is anticipated to fetch a minimum of $1 million US. It is just one of over twenty lightsaber props that will be available for bidding at the auction, covering the Star Wars saga from Episode I to IX, along with props from other productions within the universe crafted by George Lucas.

Additional items up for auction include the dueling lightsabers used by Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan Kenobi and Hayden Christensen’s Anakin Skywalker in Revenge of the Sith, each expected to fetch at least $10,000 US.
Also featured is an EE-3 carbine blaster famously carried by Boba Fett in The Empire Strikes Back, with an estimated value exceeding $100,000 US.
Among the unique items are a Yoda puppet hand utilized by Frank Oz in the character’s debut in The Empire Strikes Back, Anthony Daniels’ autographed personal third-draft screenplay for the original 1977 Star Wars, and a TIE Fighter pilot helmet from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
