Coronation Street actor Ryan Thomas has shared an update about a pigeon he believes is a reincarnation of his late father. Thomas, 41, affectionately named the bird Dougie James after his dad, who passed away in 2020.
Recently, Thomas took to Instagram to express his thoughts on his feathered companion’s disappearance. He recounted how Dougie, a regular presence in his garden, was nowhere to be found one morning, causing him to reflect on the bird’s potential departure.
To his delight, Thomas later discovered Dougie perched happily on a TV aerial, capturing the moment on camera and expressing his joy at the pigeon’s return.
In a subsequent video, the Dancing On Ice star humorously questioned his followers about his mental state, acknowledging concerns raised by a friend. Despite the light-hearted tone, Thomas remained amused by the unusual connection he felt with the pigeon, playfully suggesting it could be a manifestation of his father’s spirit.
Thomas further detailed how the pigeon had made repeated visits, even attempting to enter his house in his absence. Seeking advice, he consulted psychic Sally Morgan, who affirmed the possibility of the bird embodying his father’s essence.
Sharing his emotional journey on social media, Thomas posted a picture of Dougie alongside a poignant caption referencing his deep connection with the bird. Amused by the resemblance between the pigeon’s markings and his father’s features, Thomas continued to embrace the peculiar bond he felt with the avian visitor.
