WhatsApp users can now enjoy an enhanced experience with the long-awaited launch of a dedicated app for the Apple Watch. This new development by Meta, the parent company of WhatsApp, enables users to conveniently send messages and respond to chats directly from their wrists without the need to access their smartphones.
Although WhatsApp notifications have been available on the Apple Watch for years, the functionality was limited, only displaying message snippets. With the latest update, users can now access full messages, reply with emojis, and even send voice memos, mirroring the experience on other devices like smartphones and tablets.
The update introduces various new features, including call notifications, the ability to read complete messages, send voice messages, react with emojis, enjoy media content like images and stickers, and view more chat history on the watch screen. WhatsApp emphasizes that all messages and calls remain private with end-to-end encryption.
Notably, the new WhatsApp Apple Watch app is compatible with Apple Watch Series 4 or later, running watchOS 10 or newer. While the app is not yet available, its release is expected in the near future, offering users an improved messaging experience on their Apple Watches.
