“Zola to Drive Molinari at Ryder Cup”

Gianfranco Zola has taken on a unique role at Bethpage this week by agreeing to be Francesco Molinari’s designated buggy driver during the Ryder Cup. Zola, a former Chelsea legend, was seen in the front row of a team photo before the Ryder Cup, confirming his involvement as Molinari’s driver.

According to Golf Digest, Zola and Molinari, who bonded during Molinari’s time at West Ham, will continue their friendship at the Ryder Cup. Zola, known for his time as West Ham’s manager, narrowly avoided relegation in the 2009-10 season before departing the club.

Despite his football background, Zola has also dabbled in golf, participating in pro-ams on the DP World Tour and playing alongside former Premier League stars at Trump International Golf Links in Aberdeen. Molinari, serving as Team Europe’s deputy captain alongside Luke Donald, expressed his excitement for the challenge at Bethpage and his dedication to the team.
