LG TV owners are in for a treat this holiday season with a significant update to the LG Channels platform. The tech giant from Korea has enhanced its platform, offering a range of new features and additional free content, including Sky shows.
This recent update, rolling out this month, allows users with select LG screens to access Sky Sports Stories, Sky Sports Vault, and Sky Sports Classics without the need for a subscription. Moreover, LG has incorporated the Sky News channel, expanding the free content lineup.
The update also introduces new content like LG1 Christmas for festive watching, FIFA+ Women Channel for soccer enthusiasts, and DP World Tour for golf fans. These additions are part of LG Channels’ FAST (Free Ad-Supported Television) services, meaning viewers will encounter advertisements during programs.
Apart from new channels, the update brings broader enhancements, such as personalized content recommendations and a revamped user interface for quicker and easier content discovery.
A new feature called “Quick Access” enables viewers to access channel information, the TV guide, favorites, and popular content instantly by pressing the “OK” button on the LG Magic Remote while watching a program.
Chris Jo, Head of the webOS Platform Business Centre at LG Media Entertainment Solution Company, stated that LG Channels is focused on offering users convenient access to engaging content. The latest upgrade aims to enhance everyday viewing for millions of users globally with a new logo and improved personalization features.
