Tommy Fleetwood expressed his confidence that Team Europe will elevate his performance at the upcoming Ryder Cup. The English golfer has been selected to join Luke Donald’s team at Bethpage Black, alongside esteemed players such as Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm, and Matt Fitzpatrick.
Golf is known for its solitary nature, with players typically relying on their coaches and caddies for support during individual events. However, the Ryder Cup’s team format offers a unique opportunity for players to come together both on and off the course, providing a sense of camaraderie and mutual support.
Fleetwood emphasized the significance of team dynamics during a recent press conference, highlighting the historic legacy of Team Europe and the privilege of representing the continent alongside fellow players, vice captains, and support staff. He acknowledged the collective drive within the team to excel and deliver their best performance, regardless of individual circumstances.
Having recently secured his first PGA Tour title at the Tour Championship, Fleetwood enters the Ryder Cup with a positive mindset. While he aims to defend Team Europe’s previous victory at the Marco Simone Golf and Country Club, he is prepared for the tough competition posed by Team USA, led by notable players like Bryson DeChambeau, Scottie Scheffler, and Xander Schauffele.
The Ryder Cup is scheduled to kick off at Bethpage Black on Friday, 26th September.
