Apple has unveiled a new software update designed to enhance creativity for a wider audience. The tech giant from the US is introducing Creative Studio, a platform that grants MacBook and iPad users access to premium software at a more affordable monthly rate.
This service provides complete access to professional applications like Final Cut Pro for video editing, Logic Pro for music creation, and Pixelmator Pro as an alternative to Adobe’s Photoshop.
Upon its launch later this month, Apple users can subscribe to this service for £12.99 per month or £129 per year, offering excellent value for the comprehensive software package included.
Individually, Final Cut Pro costs £300 on the App Store, while Logic Pro is priced at £200.
By offering these software tools through a subscription model, Apple aims to make them more accessible to a broader audience.
According to Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services, “Apple Creator Studio provides creators with valuable access to powerful tools for video editing, music production, creative design, and visual productivity, enhanced with advanced intelligent features to streamline workflows.”
The Creative Studio also includes additional features such as MainStage, which transforms the Mac into a musical instrument, voice processor, or guitar rig.
Motion, another component, is a robust graphics tool for designing cinematic 2D and 3D effects, featuring intelligent functions like Magnetic Mask for effortless object isolation and tracking without a green screen.
Subscribers will also benefit from enhanced features and premium content in Keynote, Pages, and Numbers apps, in addition to Freeform for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, set to receive upgrades later this year.
While Keynote, Pages, and Numbers will remain free, they will be enhanced for Creative Studio subscribers.
Cue added, “This collection of creative apps offers professionals, aspiring artists, entrepreneurs, students, and educators an unparalleled and accessible way to explore their creative interests and excel in their work.”
Apple Creator Studio will be accessible on the App Store starting on Wednesday, January 28, with a one-month free trial for all users and a three-month trial for those purchasing a MacBook or iPad.
Furthermore, Apple has announced discounted rates for university students, offering the software bundle at just £2.99 per month or £29.99 per year.
