Sky has made a surprising announcement by bringing back its beloved channel, Sky One, which was discontinued in 2021. The relaunch is set to feature a lineup of comedy and entertainment programs, including new series like “The Dyers’ Caravan Park” and “Gemma Collins: Four Weddings and a Baby.”
In addition to these new shows, fan favorites such as “Rob & Romesh Vs.,” “The Paper,” and “Ted” will be part of the revamped channel, now residing on channel 106. Sky One will also be the home of “Saturday Night Live UK,” expected to debut later this year.
Replacing Sky Showcase and Sky Max, the relaunched channel aims to consolidate a diverse range of entertainment offerings in one place, making it simpler for viewers to discover must-watch content.
Carli Kerr, the Managing Director of Sky TV & NOW, expressed the goal of enhancing the viewing experience for Sky TV customers by curating a unique and dynamic channel inspired by the iconic legacy of Sky One. This revitalized channel will showcase a mix of brand-new Sky Originals like “The Dyers’ Caravan Park,” returning hits like “Rob & Romesh Vs.,” and will be a hub for the highly anticipated “Saturday Night Live UK.”
Sky One is scheduled to launch on channel 106 on Tuesday, February 24. This announcement coincides with Sky’s upcoming major event, which the company teased in an invitation sent to Mirror Online, hinting at significant developments for Sky TV.
Mirror Online will be covering the event live from London’s West End, providing real-time updates as the news unfolds. The event is set to kick off around 10 am on February 11, with speculation already brewing about the potential revelations that Sky might unveil during this anticipated occasion.
