British singer Jessie J has revealed details about a feud she had with a prominent pop star, describing the incident as unexpected. The 37-year-old artist refrained from responding when she was labeled negatively in the past but has now chosen to address the issue publicly.
While undergoing treatment for breast cancer, Jessie J disclosed, “I’ve never collaborated with this individual, but I feel the need to discuss this now as I feel comfortable.” During an interview on KISS FM, she recounted an incident without mentioning the name of the pop star involved.
According to Jessie, the pop star publicly criticized her on television without prior provocation. When questioned by host Harriet Rose, Jessie clarified that the pop star had referred to her as overrated in an interview following the initial incident.
The singer further explained that in a separate interview, the pop star listed her, along with Geri Haliwell and James Corden, as individuals behaving negatively, despite Jessie having only met the pop star once. The incident seems to have occurred during Mel B’s appearance on Channel 4’s The Big Narstie Show in 2022.
Mel B, formerly of the Spice Girls, candidly shared her opinion on various celebrities she found difficult to work with, including James Corden, Geri Halliwell, Jessie J, and herself. The reasons behind her negative comments about James Corden were related to his behavior towards production crew members.
Although Mel B did not elaborate on why she included Jessie J in her list, tensions between the two musicians have been evident before. In a previous interview in 2019, Mel B publicly criticized Jessie J as being “overrated.” In response, Jessie J later posted a video of herself performing with the caption, “‘Overrated’ *Mel B Voice*.”
