Katie Price is facing worries about her kittens’ well-being following the death of one and the emergency vet visit for the others. The 47-year-old former model has previously dealt with criticism and petitions calling for a ban on her pet ownership.
Recently, Katie’s sphynx cat, Doris, gave birth to a litter of kittens. Unfortunately, one of the kittens passed away shortly after birth, marking the eighth animal to die under Katie’s care.
The remaining kittens have experienced health issues and required bottle-feeding by Katie and her boyfriend, JJ Salter, as Doris developed an infection that required antibiotic treatment, preventing her from nursing her kittens.
Embarking on her UK tour with Kerry Katona, Katie brought the four kittens along. However, distress arose when JJ discovered the kittens in poor health, leading to an urgent trip to the emergency vet.
Updating her followers on Snapchat, Katie expressed concern over the kittens’ deteriorating condition despite earlier vet visits. She mentioned rushing the kittens back to the vet and the uncertainty of the outcome, emphasizing their importance to her.
After a stressful night, Katie shared that Doris had shown improvement and returned home, though she did not provide an update on the kittens’ status. A spokesperson for Katie stated that she has been diligently following veterinary advice regarding the kittens’ care.
According to the RSPCA, kittens should remain with their mother until they are at least eight to nine weeks old. Katie was recently seen leaving a theatre show in Chester, cradling one of the kittens, explaining their premature birth and the special care they require, as they have become dear to her.
Reflecting on a scare when two kittens appeared lifeless, Katie recounted the vet’s recommendation to euthanize them, but she insisted on exploring other options, leading to successful treatment after a substantial financial investment. She continues to closely monitor the kittens’ progress, emphasizing their significance in her life.
