Apple is hosting its annual WWDC Developers Conference at its headquarters in Cupertino, California, unveiling a range of updates for its products, including the iPhone. The upcoming features set to launch later this year promise enhanced customization, improved parental controls, quicker app launching, and a more intuitive Siri assistant. The introduction of these new features is expected to bring significant benefits to users with devices compatible with Apple Intelligence.
Initially announced in 2024, Apple Intelligence faced some challenges with several promised features failing to materialize. However, the tech giant from the United States has been diligently working to enhance this intelligent service, and it appears that it is now prepared to introduce the improvements to the general public.
Upon its release in September, Apple Intelligence aims to streamline users’ lives by assisting in calendar organization and providing one-tap suggestions based on the context of conversations in Messages. For instance, receiving a message requesting “photos of mum” from a family member will prompt Apple Intelligence to display relevant images from the user’s photo library for quick access.
Furthermore, updates to the Safari browser include a feature called Notify Me, enabling users to instruct Safari to monitor web pages for changes such as product restocks or price adjustments. Additionally, Safari now offers tabs that automatically categorize themselves by topic.
A standout feature is the enhancement to photo capabilities. The updated Apple Intelligence is now more proficient at photo retouching and object removal. Users can extend backgrounds without the need for advanced editing skills like those in Photoshop. Additionally, a new feature called Spatial Reframing allows for post-photo composition adjustments, ensuring users can perfect their shots even after capturing them.
Craig Federighi, Apple’s senior vice president of Software Engineering, emphasized the company’s commitment to integrating advanced technology into user-friendly products. Apple’s vision for Apple Intelligence revolves around user-centric AI deeply integrated into daily products, personalized context, and a strong focus on privacy.
The revamped Apple Intelligence is set to debut in iOS 27 this fall, accessible on various iPhone models, including the iPhone 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max, iPhone 16 range, iPhone 17 models, and the iPhone Air.
