Apple has officially released the iOS 27 public beta for iPhone users who want to test out the upcoming software upgrade before its official launch in September. Interested users can sign up on Apple’s Software Beta Program site to participate.
The new iOS 27 comes with significant enhancements, notably an extensive upgrade to Siri, improving its information retrieval, message responses, and task management capabilities. Additionally, a Visual Intelligence mode has been added to the Camera app for instant object information retrieval.
Users with older iPhones can expect a notable speed boost with iOS 27, offering faster app launches, quicker photo loading, and accelerated AirDrop transfers. The update also introduces a transparency slider for customizing the interface appearance.
Other notable features in iOS 27 include refreshed app icons, upgraded photo-editing tools like Spatial Reframing, improved connectivity for seamless Wi-Fi and network switching, and enhanced control options for AirPods users with the new AirPods Custom EQ feature.
The iOS 27 beta is compatible with a range of iPhone models, including the iPhone 17 series, iPhone 16 series, iPhone 15 series, iPhone 14 series, iPhone 13 series, iPhone 12 series, iPhone 11 series, and iPhone SE (2nd generation and later). To access the beta, users can sign up for the Apple Beta Software Program and update to iOS 27 through the Settings app on their iPhone.
It is important to note that switching back to a previous iOS version from iOS 27 may require a full factory reset, so users are advised to back up their data before installing the beta version.
