“Blind Comedian Chris McCausland to Guest on QI Series W”

British comedian and “Strictly Come Dancing” winner, Chris McCausland, is set to appear as a guest on the popular quiz show QI when it returns to BBC Two in October for its upcoming season, Series W. The show, known for its humorous approach to asking obscure questions, will feature Sandi Toksvig as the host, alongside regular guest comedian Alan Davies, and various other comedians like Jimmy Carr, Aisling Bea, Rosie Jones, Nish Kumar, Jo Brand, and Julian Clary.

This won’t be Chris’s first time on QI, as he previously appeared in a Series S episode called Smörgåsbord. The comedian has a history of participating in comedy panel shows such as Would I Lie To You?, Have I Got News For You, and 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown.

Piers Fletcher, the series producer of QI, expressed excitement about the upcoming Series W, stating, “We had a whale of a time making the W Series of QI. After 23 years of crafting wisdom, wit, and whimsy, we’re really hitting our stride. Watch it, and thank me later.”

The new season will consist of 14 extended QI XL episodes lasting 45 minutes each, along with two 30-minute specials. The episodes will be available on iPlayer in October, with the exact release date yet to be announced.

Launched in 2003, QI has been a long-standing hit with celebrity contestants like Chris, who attempt to navigate tricky questions designed to lead them to incorrect answers. Sandi Toksvig, who has hosted the show for the past nine years, is also branching out with a new show called Sandi Toksvig’s Hidden Wonders, where she explores archaeological treasures.

In a heartwarming moment, Chris, who is visually impaired, won “Strictly Come Dancing” with Dianne Buswell last year, earning them the memorable moment award at the BAFTA TV Awards for their emotional waltz to You’ll Never Walk Alone. Dianne will also be joining the new season of QI, which premieres on 20 September, as she announced her pregnancy. Dianne and her partner, Joe Sugg, first met at a dance competition in 2018.
