The body of a woman was tragically found in a parking lot at a well-liked scenic area close to Glasgow.
Responders hurried to the location in the Campsie Fells region of Lennoxtown, East Dunbartonshire, just after 6pm on Tuesday, September 9, where the discovery was made. Authorities have informed the deceased’s family, and Police Scotland has stated that the incident is not under suspicion, with details to be passed on to the Procurator Fiscal, as reported by Glasgow Live.
The Campsie Fells, located approximately 19km north of Glasgow, encompass a series of softly undulating hills. This area is popular for activities like walking, hiking, and cycling, especially in the warmer seasons.

A police spokesperson stated: “Around 6.05pm on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, a report was received by the authorities regarding the discovery of a woman’s body in a parking area in the Campsie Fells region of Lennoxtown. Her family has been notified. The incident is not considered suspicious, and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
The identity of the woman has not been disclosed publicly.
This incident follows closely after the recovery of the body of Kimberley Johnson, 33, from a reservoir at a UK beauty spot. Authorities were alerted to a woman in distress at Strinesdale Reservoir at approximately 4pm on Sunday, August 17.
Kimberley’s body was recovered a few hours later around 6.25pm. The beauty spot comprises reservoirs, woodlands, and meadows surrounded by farmland. Strinesdale is a habitat for various local wildlife and features multiple fishing locations.
