Chancellor’s Second Budget Focuses on NHS, Debt, Cost of Living

In a few days, I will present my second Budget as the Chancellor. Prioritizing working families, my focus will be on reducing NHS waiting lists, national debt, and the cost of living. These key areas align with the country’s priorities and my own as Chancellor.

Addressing NHS waiting lists is crucial as we strive to uplift the healthcare system from previous challenges and ensure prompt access to essential treatments. Tackling national debt is a priority to allocate funds back into vital sectors like education, healthcare, law enforcement, and communities.

Aiming to alleviate the burden on households, lowering the cost of living is paramount. The strain of high prices impacts ordinary families significantly. Recognizing the economic challenges faced by many, I am committed to implementing measures in the upcoming Budget to address these concerns.

Our government has already taken steps to ease financial pressures on families by freezing prescription charges and railway fares, establishing breakfast clubs in schools, and combating ticket scalping. These initiatives aim to reduce everyday expenses for individuals and families.

The stability we have restored to the economy enables us to tackle the cost of living effectively while ensuring prudent spending practices to avoid repeating past mistakes. By eliminating wasteful spending and preventing fraud, we aim to direct resources where they are most needed.

The upcoming Budget will prioritize the well-being of you and your family, aiming to foster a fairer, stronger, and more secure Britain.
