Six young children, including a two-month-old baby, were rescued from a storage unit where they had been confined. Authorities in Milwaukee have arrested a 26-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man on charges of child neglect and abuse after the children were discovered in a storage unit in the northern part of the city. The children, aged two, three, five, seven, and nine, along with the infant, were found unharmed inside the unit. Initially, officials believed there were only two children inside the container, but the total count was six. Firefighters were called to assist in opening the locked unit, with no injuries reported during the operation. Nearby residents shared conflicting accounts of seeing children around the storage unit, with one witness expressing shock and concern for the welfare of the children. Community members echoed sentiments of disbelief and empathy, calling for better support and care for children. The Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office is currently reviewing the case.
