Co-op is gearing up to unveil 11 fresh stores this week, and the locations have been officially disclosed. These new stores are spread out from Bristol to the Scottish Highlands, with the Co-op also marking its presence as the inaugural permanent retailer at the newly established Brent Cross Town development in London.
The upcoming store openings include a blend of brand-new outlets, franchise-operated stores, and those undergoing a redesign before reopening. This initiative is part of the retailer’s commitment to invest in over 200 new and revamped stores by 2024/25.
This latest announcement is part of the 50 stores that Co-op recently confirmed would open in November and December, just in time for the festive season. The Co-op is urging the Government to implement business rates reform in the upcoming Budget.
Kate McCrae, Co-op’s Operations Director, emphasized the company’s dedication to establishing local stores that serve as more than just retail spaces but also function as community hubs. She highlighted the importance of supporting local economies, creating jobs, and endorsing British farmers and suppliers.
In a bid to enhance member benefits, Co-op has introduced 200 new personalized offers, increased discounts, member-exclusive games, reward mechanisms, and unique deals to its membership scheme. Members stand to save over £90 across October, November, and December, with monthly prize draws based on spending in-store and online.
Rachel Halter, Director of Membership at Co-op, underscored the company’s commitment to offering added value to its members daily through expanded personalized offers, enhanced discounts, and engaging features like booster offers and in-app games.
By prioritizing member satisfaction and delivering exceptional value, Co-op aims to consistently reward its members for choosing their services.
