Delaney Baie (DB) Pridham, the inaugural Golden Boot recipient and Player of the Year in the Northern Super League, has prolonged her affiliation with Rapid FC until the conclusion of the 2028 campaign.
Having netted 28 goals across the NSL’s initial two seasons, the 28-year-old has also made several appearances for the Canada national women’s team. She is anticipated to feature on the squad this autumn as Canada vies for a spot in the 2027 Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
Originally from Saratoga, Calif., Pridham, an alumna of Santa Clara University, has previously played for IBV in Iceland, as well as Kristianstads DFF and Linköpings FC in Sweden. Nonetheless, she takes great pride in her current stint in Ottawa.
Expressing her enthusiasm for the club’s robust foundation and the promising vision of its new owners, Pridham remarked, “I’m genuinely content here. Ottawa is a splendid city, and our fan base is steadily expanding.”
Thomas Gilbert, the CEO of Rapid FC, expressed no astonishment at Pridham’s decision to extend her contract with the team.
“We initiated discussions with her on this matter last year,” he disclosed. “Her unwavering dedication and drive made me confident that if we presented a suitable offer aligned with her market value, she would engage in negotiations with us.”

The specifics of the contract extension were not disclosed.
Pridham is not the sole Canadian talent to have relocated to Ottawa. Former national team stalwart Carmelina Moscato has been appointed as Ottawa’s head coach for the upcoming season, succeeding Katrine Pederson. Moscato boasts coaching experience in the U.S, Denmark, Mexico, and Saudi Arabia.
Moscatos’s appointment underscores the superior talent being attracted to the NSL, a fact that Gilbert believes underscores the league’s quality.
“On a broader scale, this league aspires to be one of the premier leagues globally,” he remarked. “The caliber of signings like DB’s and Carm’s, across various teams, signifies that we are progressing in the right direction.”
While some players may transition from the NSL to other leagues, this trend is not a cause for concern for Gilbert or NSL president Christina Litz.
