Desperate Housewives actress Andrea Bowen has revealed that she is expecting a baby. The 35-year-old star, known for her role as Julie Mayer on the ABC series that aired from 2004 to 2012, shared the joyful news on Instagram. Bowen hinted to her followers that her pregnancy with her husband Josh Zuckerman, 40, is their most exciting collaboration yet.
Accompanied by a set of photos, Andrea announced, “[Josh] and my best collab yet – a little girl arriving later this year!” She expressed her elation by adding, “We are bursting with happiness!!!” at the end of her post. The images included a snapshot of Andrea at a prenatal appointment and another of her cradling her growing belly, with a third capturing the couple on their wedding day last year.
Josh, who also starred in shows like 90210, responded to his wife’s Instagram post with affectionate words in the comments, writing, “Baby. I’m yours’. And also that baby’s.” Andrea reciprocated with two crying emojis.
Teri Hatcher, 60, who portrayed Andrea’s on-screen mother Susan Mayer on Desperate Housewives, reposted Andrea’s announcement on her Instagram Story. Joking about being a “good babysitter,” she extended her congratulations to the couple.
In another comment on Andrea’s post, Teri humorously remarked, “Omg … Susan is gonna be a grandma! & Teri is a very good babysitter.” She concluded her message with, “Congrats you two. Tons of love!”
Fans and followers also flooded Andrea with well wishes. One individual exclaimed, “Oh congrats!! So incredibly happy for you!!!” while another shared, “Huge congratulations .. how wonderful.” A third supporter simply stated, “Omg!! Congrats!!”
The pregnancy news coincides with the launch of the Desperately Devoted podcast, where Andrea, former co-star Teri Hatcher, and Teri’s daughter Emerson Tenney revisit episodes of Desperate Housewives. Speaking to People, Andrea expressed her delight in working on the podcast, noting the special significance of revisiting the show while experiencing motherhood herself.
Andrea and Josh worked together on Desperate Housewives over a decade ago, with Josh appearing in the sixth season from 2009 to 2010 as Eddie Orlofsky, also known as the Fairview Strangler.
