Kai Trump, the granddaughter of US President Donald Trump, has revealed her upcoming debut on the LPGA Tour set for later this year. The prestigious Annika Driven By Gainbridge tournament will be hosted at Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Florida, in November, marking Kai’s first appearance on the LPGA Tour. This event, serving as the penultimate competition of the year, will offer an opportunity for this promising young golfer.
During the Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black, New York in September, Kai was present with her grandfather, Donald Trump, where Team Europe secured a 15-13 victory over Team USA. At the tournament, the 18-year-old received a personalized gift from Whoop, a sponsor exclusive to Team USA players, staff, and Whoop employees.
With a prize fund of $3.25 million, The Annika tournament has prompted Kai to take a break from her studies at the University of Miami to participate. In a recent social media post, Kai excitedly shared her decision to compete in her inaugural LPGA Tour event scheduled for next month.
In a video message to her 910,000 followers, Kai expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “I am thrilled to announce that I will be making my LPGA Tour debut in November at The Annika Driven By Gainbridge at Pelican Golf Club. It has been a dream of mine to compete professionally, and I am grateful for the invitation from Pelican Golf Club. I look forward to competing alongside the world’s best players at this premier venue. See you all at the Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Florida from Nov. 10-16.”
Kai, the daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and Vanessa Trump, is an amateur golfer recognized as one of the sport’s emerging talents. Ranked 979th among junior girls on The Universal Golf Rankings, Kai faces a challenging milestone in her golf career with the upcoming Florida event in November.
With a substantial social media following exceeding six million, Kai recently launched an apparel and lifestyle brand targeting young women in sports. Ricki Lasky, the LPGA’s chief tour business and operations officer, highlighted the significance of sponsor invitations in showcasing emerging talent and attracting new audiences to the sport, particularly among younger fans.
Having participated in the Junior Invitational at Sage Valley in March, where she finished last among 24 players, Kai is gearing up for The Annika tournament, which will feature top golfers like Charley Hull and defending champion Nelly Korda.
