Emily Atack Stars in New Thriller Series “The Rumour”

Actress and comedian Emily Atack, known for her role in The Inbetweeners, is currently starring in Channel 5’s new thriller series, The Rumour, alongside actress Rachel Shenton. Emily, 35, has also appeared on reality shows like Dancing on Ice and I’m A Celebrity. She comes from a family of entertainers, with her father, musician Keith Atack, being a former member of the 70s pop group Child, and her mother, actress and singer Kate Robbins, having a successful career in acting and music.

Kate Robbins gained fame through her roles in various TV shows and music hits. Keith Atack, 66, is also an actor and shares three children with Kate. Emily’s family extends further with her mother’s three sisters, all accomplished in their respective fields. Amy Robbins, Emily’s younger sister, is an actress known for her role in ITV’s The Royal. Kate’s other sisters, Jane Robbins and Emma Robbins, have successful careers as well, with Jane being a sculptor and Emma being a singer.

Ted Robbins, Kate’s older brother, is a noted actor and comedian, recognized for his role in Peter Kay’s Phoenix Nights. Emily also has a unique family connection to The Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney, being a first cousin twice removed of the iconic musician. Emily shared on a podcast that Paul McCartney is her grandmother’s first cousin, fondly recalling their close family ties. The Rumour is set to premiere on Channel 5 on Wednesday, 10 September at 9pm.
