“Freely Introduces Spotlight Channels for UK Viewers”

A rising competitor in the UK television market is Freely, which emerged in 2024 and has quickly gained traction with over one million households switching to its service. Freely offers more than 50 live channels without the need for traditional aerial or satellite dish installations.

Recently, Freely introduced its new feature called Freely Spotlight Channels, providing additional entertainment options at no extra cost. These channels can be accessed through a standard Wi-Fi connection on channels 31, 90 to 99, and are available on Freely-enabled devices through CTV OS partners.

V, the company behind the VIDAA OS smart TV platform used in Hisense TVs, is the launch partner for Freely Spotlight Channels, offering a curated selection of channels on the Freely TV Guide. This addition aims to enhance visibility and credibility for selected channels within the UK television landscape.

While the specific content for Freely Spotlight Channels is yet to be disclosed, further information is anticipated closer to the launch date. Deep Halder, Chief Commercial Officer at Everyone TV, expressed the company’s commitment to delivering long-term value to audiences and partners through innovative TV offerings.

For those unfamiliar with Freely, it is managed by the same team responsible for Freeview and Freesat, with a key distinction being that all content is delivered via broadband, eliminating the need for traditional setup equipment. Users only require a compatible TV or set-top box and a stable Wi-Fi connection to access Freely’s offerings, including live channels, on-demand content, personalized recommendations, a TV guide, and the ability to pause live TV.
