If you are a Freeview user, it is recommended that you review your settings and perform a retune promptly. The popular television platform in the UK has announced the release of an update that introduces several modifications to the channel lineup and TV guide. Freeview has advised that starting this week, certain broadcasters are implementing changes that require a retune to ensure the channels and TV guide remain current.
So, what are the latest updates?
There have been a total of four announced changes. Firstly, three existing channels have been rebranded with new names, which will now be visible in the TV guide.
Here are the details of the changes.
That’s TV 3 (Channel 71) has been renamed That’s 20th Century, offering music from previous decades and featuring iconic shows like Yes, Minister, In Sickness and in Health, and The Saint.
That’s TV 3 MCR (Channel 86) is now That’s 20th Century MCR, and That’s Classics MCR (Channel 93) has been simplified to That’s Classics.
In addition to the rebranding, a new channel called That’s Entertainment is being launched on Channel 75. While specific program listings are not widely available yet, more information is anticipated soon.
Freeview has stated that updates of this nature are part of the ongoing adjustments as broadcasters regularly refine their offerings to ensure fresh and diverse content.
If you are a Freeview user, you should observe these changes reflected in the TV planner. If the updates have not taken effect, a retune may be necessary by following these steps:
1. Press the menu button on your remote
2. Navigate to settings, installation, or a similar menu
3. Enter your PIN if prompted (commonly 1234 or 0000)
4. Select “first-time installation,” “factory reset,” or “full retune”
5. Confirm the deletion of existing channels
Your device will then automatically search for and store the updated channels.
While Freeview updates occur regularly, this recent update is significant, making it advisable to retune promptly.
