Jack Draper has parted ways with his coach of four years, James Trotman. Trotman guided Draper to three ATP Tour titles, including a victory at Indian Wells, a semi-final appearance at the 2024 US Open, and a career-high ranking of No.4 in the world.
The British coach has decided to step back to prioritize his family, following Draper’s shortened 2025 season due to an arm injury. Draper, the British No.1, played only one match after Wimbledon, reaching the second round of the US Open before withdrawing.
Draper recently added Jamie Delgado, former coach of Andy Murray and Grigor Dimitrov, to his team. Delgado is expected to accompany Draper on most tour weeks, with a potential role still open for Trotman.
However, Trotman, a father of two, believes he cannot meet the needs of the world No.9 while dedicating more time to his family. Despite this, Draper appreciates Trotman’s contributions and considers him a part of the team.
Draper is scheduled to make his competitive return at the UTS London event in December, with Delgado as his head coach. Delgado, who coached Murray to significant success including a Wimbledon title and a stint as world No. 1, also worked with Dimitrov, helping him achieve a career resurgence.
Unfortunately, Dimitrov suffered a serious injury at Wimbledon this year, leading to his retirement from the match. Delgado, along with other former members of Murray’s team, has joined Draper’s crew, showcasing a strong support network for the British player.
Draper has been intensively training at the National Tennis Centre gym and even had a brief training session in the Algarve. In other news, Sky has reduced prices for its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle for the upcoming season, offering significant savings and over 1,400 live matches, including an increase in the number of live Premier League games.
