Liam Gallagher Mourns Boxing Legend Ricky Hatton

Liam Gallagher has spoken out about the untimely passing of boxing legend Ricky Hatton, expressing his gratitude for knowing the accomplished athlete.

Following the discovery of Ricky’s lifeless body at his residence in Greater Manchester on September 14, heartfelt tributes have been pouring in from various personalities, including David Beckham and his Dancing On Ice colleagues. The renowned fighter, born in Stockport, was only 46 years old and would have turned 47 next month.

At present, a police cordon surrounds Ricky’s home on Bowlacre Road in Gee Cross, Hyde. Greater Manchester Police have confirmed the finding of a deceased individual and have clarified that foul play is not suspected in the death.

A representative for GMP stated, “We have located a body at an address on Bowlacre Road in Gee Cross at 6.45am today, Sunday, September 14. The circumstances surrounding the death are not deemed suspicious.”

As the world mourns the loss of Ricky Hatton, Oasis frontman Liam, aged 52, has offered his respects. Through a post on X, the Wonderwall singer expressed his devastation over Ricky’s demise and hailed it as an honor to have known and shared moments with the champion boxer.

Ricky’s Dancing on Ice peers have also paid tribute to him. Ricky participated in the show in 2024 but was the first contestant to be eliminated.

Will Mellor, a close friend of Ricky Hatton and fellow Manchester native, paid homage to the boxer on social media, emphasizing Ricky’s status as a beloved figure and his struggles with mental health.

The news of Ricky Hatton’s death comes shortly after his announcement of a comeback to boxing, with a scheduled fight in December. Throughout his illustrious boxing career, Ricky held multiple world championships, UK titles, and was recognized as Fighter of the Year in 2015.
