Thousands of individuals gathered in Corner Brook this week to attend the 50th Newfoundland and Labrador Summer Games, with a local business taking charge of providing all the event merchandise.
MegaTrends, a Corner Brook-based company specializing in embroidery, screen printing, and signage, has crafted numerous T-shirts, 3,000 lanyards, and approximately 1,400 medals for the occasion. Owner Rob Marche shared with CBC News that the experience has been both exhilarating and challenging, emphasizing the essence of entrepreneurship.
Having been in the T-shirt printing industry since the early 2000s, Marche expressed his delight in producing merchandise for the event, describing it as a remarkable and rewarding endeavor. Witnessing attendees adorned in T-shirts featuring the N.L. Games logo has been a gratifying sight for him.
According to Marche, the act of wearing the event merchandise, especially the T-shirts, instills a sense of belonging and unity among participants, likening it to the psychological boost one gets from wearing a sports jersey before a game.
To manage the surge in orders leading up to the games, Marche launched an online store a few weeks prior. The high demand was efficiently met thanks to the utilization of an automatic screen printer, significantly enhancing production capacity.
Marche credited his dedicated team at MegaTrends for the successful execution of the merchandise creation process, noting that teamwork played a crucial role in achieving their goals. He expressed pride in his team’s efforts, emphasizing the positive impact of collaboration on the outcome.
The involvement of MegaTrends in producing the merchandise for the N.L. Games has been a significant contribution to the success of the event, reflecting the company’s commitment to delivering high-quality products for the community.
