Mercedes F1 Boss Supports Wife’s Book Launch

Mercedes F1 team principal Toto Wolff opted for a change of pace from the Mexico City Grand Prix by attending a performance of his wife Susie’s memoir, “Driven,” at London’s Lyceum Theatre. The 53-year-old’s presence at non-F1 events is rare, but supporting his wife’s book launch took precedence for him.

Susie, a former racer, shared her remarkable journey from the Scottish Highlands to the pinnacle of motorsport with an audience of around 2,000 people. Wolff, who had recently participated in the Autosport Business Exchange in New York, witnessed Susie’s career evolution from karting at age eight to her time in Formula Renault and Formula 3, where an injury hindered her performance.

Transitioning to DTM from 2006 to 2012, Susie later became Williams’ development driver in F1. In 2014, she made history by being the first woman since 1992 to participate in an F1 weekend. After retiring from racing in 2015, she assumed roles as a Mercedes brand ambassador, Team Principal for Venturi Racing in Formula E, and managing director of the F1 Academy.

While Wolff missed the Mexico City GP, his team, Mercedes, faced challenges on the track with Kimi Antonelli finishing sixth ahead of George Russell. McLaren’s Lando Norris secured victory, with Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and Red Bull’s Max Verstappen completing the podium.

In the Drivers’ standings, Russell is in fourth place with 258 points, trailing Norris by 99 points, while Antonelli sits in seventh with 97 points. Mercedes currently occupies third place in the Constructors’ standings, just one point behind Ferrari, as McLaren leads with 713 points from 13 wins and 30 podium finishes.

Sky has introduced a discounted Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle for the upcoming season, offering savings and over 1,400 live matches across various leagues. The broadcaster will air at least 215 live Premier League games next season, an increase from previous seasons.
