“NatWest and RBS to Close 46 Mobile Bank Branches”

NatWest and Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) have revealed intentions to close down 46 mobile bank branches. These mobile banks, which are essentially branches housed in vans or trucks that move to various locations, serve as an alternative to traditional brick-and-mortar branches.

These mobile branches offer services such as depositing money and cheques, as well as handling basic account inquiries. The closures of these mobile banks by NatWest and RBS are scheduled to take place by January 2026. The list of affected locations can be found below.

A representative from NatWest Group, the parent company of NatWest, RBS, and Ulster Bank, stated, “We are committed to maintaining a sustainable branch network and are proud to be the only UK bank providing a cash-based mobile branch service to communities lacking easy access to banking facilities nationwide. Our network undergoes regular evaluation to ensure optimal customer service. While we will maintain the same number of routes, some stops will be eliminated where there is overlap with banking hubs.”

In the event that your nearest bank branch closes and you require in-person assistance, customers within the NatWest group can utilize any branch for their daily banking needs. For instance, NatWest clients can utilize RBS branches, and vice versa. Additionally, the Post Office remains an option for cash deposits and withdrawals, balance inquiries, and cheque deposits.
