Nightclub Security Personnel Charged in Assault on Winnipeg Sea Bears Player

Three security personnel working at a nightclub in downtown Winnipeg are facing assault charges following an incident where a Winnipeg Sea Bears player was seriously injured earlier this month, according to authorities. Teddy Allen was reportedly attacked in the early hours of August 3 at the establishment, leading to his hospitalization. The accused individuals, aged 35, 37, and 58, were apprehended on Wednesday and charged with assault causing bodily harm. They have since been released on undertakings. The incident took place at a nightclub located on Main Street, between Portage and William avenues. Allen, who has undergone medical evaluations and received treatment, is currently recuperating at home, as confirmed in a statement released by the team. He expressed that the assault was unwarranted and should not have occurred. Allen further stated his determination to bounce back from this adversity. Authorities are urging anyone with relevant information, including potential video footage, to contact the Winnipeg police major crimes unit or provide anonymous tips to Crime Stoppers.
