“Piers Morgan Apologizes to Alastair Cook After Decade-Long Feud”

Piers Morgan has publicly apologized to Alastair Cook after criticizing him as a ‘weasel’ over a decade ago. Morgan had been vocal in his disapproval of Cook’s actions during his time as England’s cricket captain, particularly in relation to Kevin Pietersen’s exclusion from the team in 2013.

Despite previously stating he would never apologize, Morgan, along with former England cricket director Sir Andrew Strauss, has now reconciled with Cook. Morgan explained that his past anger stemmed from his desire to see Pietersen play more cricket, describing him as one of the greatest post-war batsmen.

Reflecting on his previous harsh remarks towards Cook, Morgan admitted he had been excessive in his criticism and issued a formal apology, acknowledging the overuse of derogatory terms. Cook, who continued to play for England for five more years after Pietersen’s departure, achieved remarkable success with 12,472 test runs and 33 centuries.

Cook has expressed that the fallout from Pietersen’s exit was the most challenging period of his career. Meanwhile, Sky has announced a significant price reduction for its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle for the upcoming 2025/26 season, offering over 1,400 live matches across various sports leagues, including the Premier League, EFL, Formula 1, darts, and golf.
