Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong-un held a meeting in advance of Xi Jinping’s grand military parade in China, showcasing a united front among the three powerful nations often referred to as the ‘Axis of Evil’.
As the Chinese President hosted Putin and Kim as distinguished guests, Xi delivered a message about a potential new global order, emphasizing the choice between peace and war. Despite criticism from Donald Trump, who labeled them dictators, Putin and Jong-un were prominently featured among the numerous world leaders attending China’s monumental military display.
Xi’s massive military spectacle drew a crowd of 50,000 spectators and 26 international leaders to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the end of World War Two.
Meanwhile, Trump, located in Washington, expressed his disapproval through Truth Social, condemning the collaboration between Putin, Kim, and China against the United States.
This development marked a significant shift from Trump’s previous positive remarks about Putin, following their failed summit in Alaska aimed at resolving the conflict in Ukraine. The image of the three dictators engaging in discussions and handshakes underscored their strong alliance and sent a message of solidarity amidst escalating global tensions.
In his address to the audience at Tiananmen Square, Xi outlined the critical choice between peace and war, dialogue and confrontation, and cooperation versus competition. Asserting China’s commitment to history’s correct path, Xi also made it clear that China stands firm against any form of intimidation from external forces, possibly alluding to Trump and his Western allies.
Xi further emphasized the Chinese army’s duty to safeguard unity within the nation, hinting at China’s intentions towards Taiwan and its potential invasion plans. The military parade featured uniformed soldiers, anti-ship missiles, tanks, and advanced defense systems on display.
The grand finale of the military exhibition involved releasing 80,000 doves as a symbol of peace, juxtaposing the presence of Xi’s controversial guests and China’s ambitious military goals. Kim’s attendance at the Chinese military parade, along with his daughter, marked a historic moment as the first North Korean leader to participate in such an event in over six decades.
