RCMP officers in Rankin Inlet, Nunavut, have filed charges against an individual for three firearm-related offenses following reports of gunfire in the area over the weekend. The RCMP reported that on August 9, at approximately 8:30 a.m., law enforcement responded to reports of gunshots and observed a man carrying a firearm inside a residence near 68th Street. The suspect was taken into custody later that morning, and subsequently charged with the reckless discharge of a firearm, improper storage of a loaded firearm, and negligent use of a firearm. The individual is scheduled to appear in court on August 17.
