“Sky Streamlines Movie Experience and Introduces Smart Home Devices”

Sky subscribers who enjoy movie marathons are in for a change as Sky is merging two of its services this week. Sky Cinema Animation (channel 312) will be combined with Sky Cinema Family on April 30 to streamline the viewing experience.

The consolidation aims to simplify the service by offering a single destination for family-friendly films on channel 304. Viewers can expect popular titles like the Shrek series, The Secret Life of Pets, Smurfs, How to Train Your Dragon, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and Wicked all in one place.

Although there will be one less channel to watch, Sky reassures that all content previously available on Sky Cinema Animation will still be accessible through Sky Cinema Family. Additionally, the standalone Sky Cinema Animation channel will make a temporary return during school holidays to entertain kids.

Sky has also ventured into the home security market by introducing new smart devices. Customers can now subscribe to a Sky Smart Doorbell and Chime for £5 per month with a £15 upfront cost. The system includes features such as full HD video recording, mobile alerts, customizable activity zones, two-way audio, and 30 days of cloud video storage.

For those seeking advanced features, Sky offers a Smart Home Bundle with Smart Home Plan+ for £8 per month and a £20 upfront fee. This package includes an indoor camera and additional app controls for scheduled arming and automatic device modes.

Paul Sweeney, Managing Director of Sky Smart Home, emphasized the company’s commitment to making premium smart technology accessible, focusing on valued features while ensuring simplicity, ease of use, and affordability for customers.
