A tragic incident involving a five-month-old baby and a five-year-old child occurred when a woman accidentally reversed her car over a pram in a parking lot. The baby did not survive despite immediate CPR efforts by police, while the child sustained serious injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital.
The 35-year-old driver, who is familiar with the children, reportedly intended to move her Renault SUV forward but unknowingly had it in reverse. The driver was unharmed in the accident, which occurred in Sydney’s southwest.
In a separate incident, a two-year-old boy named Sonny Macdonald lost his life in Whitstable, Kent, after a car crashed into him and his family at a car park. Sonny was pronounced dead at the scene, and his parents were hospitalized. An investigation is ongoing, and a man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
MP Rosie Duffield expressed condolences to the family of the deceased boy and commended the emergency services for their response. She urged anyone with potential evidence to contact the authorities.
