The recent agreement between the U.S. and Canada involves a temporary delay in imposing tariffs on Canadian products following intensified bilateral talks. The deal includes reductions in sectoral tariffs on Canadian steel, aluminum, and automobiles in exchange for returning American alcohol to Canadian shelves. It was reported that the agreement may also eliminate tariffs on American agricultural products.
Vance highlighted the significant role of Jivani in the negotiations, mentioning their longstanding friendship and Jivani’s active participation in advocating for mutually beneficial outcomes.
