Swaby, aged 28, brings a wealth of experience from playing in various leagues around the world, including the National Women’s Soccer League and France’s top division. On the other hand, Hansen, aged 26, expressed her excitement at returning home to Burnaby, B.C., and playing in front of a familiar crowd, which includes her family.
The acquisitions come after the retirement of Mariah Lee, who decided to end her professional career to pursue studies in law. Additionally, goalkeeper Kirstin Tynan was loaned to the Halifax Tides for the remainder of the season. Vancouver, currently trailing Halifax in the standings, aims to secure a playoff spot and make a strong finish to the season.
