The company stated, “With insights from families and experts, we are introducing new parent-managed accounts that enable parents or guardians to establish WhatsApp for pre-teens, complete with controls to restrict their usage to messaging and calling.”
So, how does this new feature operate? WhatsApp explains that parents will need both their own device and the phone designated for the family member in close proximity to link the accounts. Once configured, these accounts will be under the supervision of the parent or guardian.
